At the park
We went to the park this afternoon. It was in the high 50's but windy so we didn't stay too long. The wind made our eyes water! We played a bit on the playgrounds, picked up sticks, walked through the sand, walked down to the pier and looked at the water and the mud since the tide was going out, and tried to step on every pine cone we saw. We weren't very successful in that endeavor as there were lots of pine cones!

No Freaking Way!!
Last Edit at 4:41 p.m.: No snow, the sun is back out and shining like it's the middle of July. Landon's still snoozing. *really big sigh*
ETA at 2:30 p.m.: after about 13 flakes fell the snow stopped, the clouds went away, and the sun came out. So Landon and I played with cars and trucks, farm animals, ginormous legos, read books, ate some lunch and we're now playing kitchen and watching Huckleberry Hound. Still no snow though the local weather chick insists it's coming. Coastal weather stinks. The clouds are forming though. Time for Landon's nap so maybe when he wakes up but I ain't holding my breath!
I posted my last post at 10:18. I went to brush my teeth and clean the upstairs up a bit before I woke Landon. I decided to look outside one more time since I was obsessing and there is the snow! If I knew all I had to do was post about it I'd done so this morning at 5:45!! Come on, snow, more then 2 inches!!!! Landon and I need to play in the snow, snow like mad, snow like the banshees, snow like you're snowing in NC, the midwest, New England, just snow! Landon and I want snow!!!!

Snow day!
Yep, a snow day without snow. That's right folks, there's no snow! When I woke up this morning to potty and decided to look out the window I was sooo disappointed. It was 5:45 a.m. and good thing since Rob and I were certain I wouldn't have school, we didn't set the alarm. So I set it for 6:30 and tried to go back to sleep. Then the school secretary calls at 6:14 and says no school! Rob slept a little longer and then got up, got ready and went to work. Landon is still snoozing, what a sleeper and I'm still waiting for the stinking snow. Weather.com has dropped us from 3-5 inches today to 1-2 inches. *sigh*

Our fun
Landon and I have a lot of fun together. Like today, we went grocery shopping. Landon made a fun game of writing on the back of my shopping list with my lava lap pen that Grammie gave me. Then it was a game of turning the pen on and off, finally morphing into his really fun game. It was me grabbing the shopping list out of his hand, Landon taking it back and throwing it onto the floor. He was laughing so hard at this he gave himself the hiccups. Other shoppers were laughing at him laughing. I was laughing so hard I was wheezing. He was so good while we were shopping though he did throw his two cars and one of them went under the shelves and I wasn't crawling under to get it. When I did look for it under there I couldn't see it anyway. We bought bananas and he had one while I paid and got his coat zipped up.
I've really enjoyed watching his little personality develop and watching him turn into a little boy.
He loves:
*bananas
*his cars and trucks, esp. the heavy PSP ones Grandpa gave him
*bot bots (yeah, I suppose I should have him off of the bottle by now but what's one before a nap and before bed time going to hurt? He does drink from a sippy so I fail to see the big deal!)
*bunny
*stuffed Curious George
*huge stuffed monkey
*bear that plays "Lullaby"
*AIRPLANES but only when they are in the sky!
*cheese
*baths and the bath crayons
*throwing stuff in the trash can, mostly stuff that's supposed to go in the trash can!
*going outside to play
*sticks
*his camo rain boots
*when Daddy comes home from work
He hates:
*getting his diaper changed
*when I won't let him climb on the back of the couch
*being told no in any form
*when I sit in his Redskins bean bag chair
He's such a good mannered child. He doesn't really fuss when it's time to nap or go to bed. Some nights he takes my finger and leads me to the gate to go upstairs. He does that a lot, taking my finger and then leading me wherever he wants to go, like the back door or the pantry! He's not really saying a whole lot of words that we understand, a bunch of babble that clearly means something, we just not sure what. He does say some words very clearly though. I often tell him to enunciate!
I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow so we have another day to hang out together! He's up from his nap now so time for more fun!

Silly Boy
Today is MLK Day so no school for me. Landon and I have been hanging out having lots of fun! I was putting groceries away while he played with his farm house. He's finally starting to understand me when I ask him to smile for the camera!

Reading books
Kitchen!
Eating like a big boy
So, I have really been working with Landon on using a fork and spoon. He often just grabs at food at Nana's so he's not very civilized! However, he's really starting to get the hang of utensils. And, two spoons are much better than one!
The spots on his face are little smiley stickers we have fun with. We stick them on each other's faces, the dogs, the floor, just about everywhere!

Funny things
Landon just does really funny things. After his nap yesterday I got him dressed to go outside. He is dressed and decides to go take things out of Daddy's bathroom cabinet. I'm waiting at the top of the stairs for him and he comes carrying two things of deodorant and a tube of hair gel. I said, "Landon, go put those things back so we can go outside." He runs back to the bathroom and in a minute comes back with nothing and we go outside. Later when I went upstairs, he had just thrown those things back into the bathroom on the floor. I could just picture him flinging those things so he could go outside!
After dinner and getting jammies on, we were all laying on the floor with Landon, trying to wind him down for the night. He had two spoons from his kitchen and was trying to feed all of us, including Mac, whatever imaginary tasty treats he had on his spoon!
Landon and I were laying on the couch watching tv with the lights out, trying to get him into sleepy mode. Daddy was upstairs working on the computer. Landon hears him and starts calling, "Rob....Rob!" So Daddy looks over and makes a kissy face at Landon. Landon does it back, it was so funny and cute! Then he was all about making "fish lips."
He just does the cutest things at the funniest times. I love that boy!

Shoes
I'm not a big shoe person. I have shoes, cute shoes and enough shoes that I have options to match my shoes to my outfits. Now, Landon on the other hand.... He has had some shoes in his little life. I'd like to make it clear that I didn't buy all of these shoes for him. Nana and Grammie have helped out immensely. I have splurged, twice, on red Converse sneakers though. Uncle Joe bought Landon a cute little pair of brown sandals that he wore when he was just days and weeks old. His favorite pair have been two pairs that Grammie bought for him; navy blue crocs and camo rain boots. The rain boots were purchased a while ago and they were only available in a size 7/8 and were too cute to pass up, Grammie bought them. They don't quite fit Landon yet but well enough to splash in the puddles and walk through the mud. The picture you're about to see includes all of the shoes Landon has worn and outgrown. He still wears his 2nd pair of red Converses; a pair of fur-lined, black crocs; the aforementioned rain boots; two pairs of brown shoes, one velcro and one tie; a cute pair of suede shoes the DiMondi's gave to him; and three pairs of slippers, none of which I bought for him! I could be forgetting a pair but I don't think so. But, really, don't people need shoes for all types of weather? Cold, hot, warm, rainy. And who can forget shoes for the fashionable, because Landon is clearly fashionable as you can see from this blog! Maybe I'll have them all bronzed?
My favorites are the little colorful flip flops and the white fuzzy slippers, and of course the red Converses. Landon wears a size 7 now as 20 months, can you believe it?
